What you put in Vault This is encrypted on your phone. We can't see it, and we couldn't hand it to anyone if asked.

What stays on your phone

Your photos, videos, files and notes, and everything about them (names, folders, dates), are encrypted on your phone before they're stored. The keys come from your pattern, PIN or passphrase together with your phone's secure hardware. Nothing you store is sent to us.

Only if you turn them on

  • Google Drive backup and sync. Encrypted backups go into a private app folder in your own Google Drive. We never receive them. Google can see how many files there are and their sizes, not what's in them.
  • Backup to a folder. Encrypted backups go to the folder you pick (for example in OneDrive or Dropbox) through that app. We never receive them.
  • Sharing a vault. An encrypted copy is stored on our sharing server (run on Cloudflare) until the share ends. The share phrase and its key never reach the server, so we can't open it. Shares are deleted when you end them, at their end date or opening limit, or after 6 months without updates.
  • Crash reports. Off unless you say yes. They hold the app and Android version, phone model and where the code failed: never your files, names or anything you typed. Deleted after 90 days.

Buying Pro

Purchases are handled by Google Play. We don't see your name, email or payment details.
